Dr. June Bradlaw, Chairperson
of the Scientific Advisory Board of IFER and Science
Advisor to NAVS, was invited to serve as a member of
the Scientific Advisory Committee on Alternative Toxicological
Methods (SACATM) by David A. Schwartz, M.D., Director
of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences
and National Toxicology Program. June has accepted
this position to represent the interests of the animal
protection community and use her scientific expertise
to advance the development and validation of alternatives.
Her term begins immediately and continues through June
30, 2010.
"In general, SACATM provides advice on
priorities and activites related to the development,
validation, scientific review, regulatory acceptance,
implementation and national and international harmonization
of new, revised, and alternative toxicological test
methods."
June will serve as one of fifteen voting members to
the SACATM appointed by the NIEHS Director which includes
representatives from academia, state government, industry,
and animal protection organizations.
