Research Interests
Dr. Callahan investigates interactions between the
human immune and nervous systems, the immunological
basis of behavioral disease, the behavioral basis of
immunological disorders, and the public understanding
of science. Dr. Callahan holds a joint appointment with
the Department of English.

Gerald N. Callahan is immunologist/pathologist with
over 30 years of experience in modern biomedical research.
He is currently associate professor of immunology/public
understanding of science in the department of Microbiology,
Immunology, and Pathology as well as the Department
of English at Colorado State University. His articles
have appeared in scientific journals such as Nature,
Journal of Experimental Medicine, and Journal of Immunology.
In Addition he is a poet/essayist whose work has appeared
in literary journals such as Creative Nonfiction, Southern
Poetry Review, Puerto Del Sol, and Emerging Infectious
Diseases. |
